Once upon a time, there was a princess from Queens Village, named Nathalie, who wanted nothing more than a wedding that she would never forget. Well Nathalie will soon be living that fairy tale as she prepares to exchange vows with her fiancé of nine years.

"My wedding will be a Cinderella fairy tale, even though I can’t afford it," said Nathalie.

Nathalie has been planning a Cinderella-themed wedding for months. The couple will have a horse and buggy, along with cake of a castle. Trumpeters will prevail, with the graceful moves of young ballerinas. The newlyweds will dance to "Time After Time," and finish the fairy tale with a honeymoon on the beaches in Jamaica.

But so far, Nathalie has been stressed about planning for the wedding and hasn’t had time to get nervous.

Nathalie was raised in East New York, Brooklyn and moved to a more tranquil Queens Village in 1991. She attended Franklin K. High School on Jamaica Avenue.

"I like the fact that nobody gets in your business," said Nathalie about her neighborhood. Yet Nathalie is used to people hanging out at all hours of the summer night in East New York.

As a place to relax, Nathalie chooses Captain Tilly Park in Jamaica Hills. To shop Nathalie treks along Jamaica Avenue, or hits the stores at Queens Center Mall, targeting a Parade of Shoes or shops for colorful blouses at G&G.

It was Nathalie’s younger sister who got into modeling first. Then Nathalie followed suit and signed with different agencies. She recently signed with Shades, run by Sherilee Newton, who was recently featured as Model of Queens in the Tribune.

As guidance, Nathalie looks up to Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell because of their beauty and wisdom.

She says her best features are her hair and legs, but mentally she enjoys being aggressive. "I’m very aggressive. Whatever I want I try to get"

To stay in shape, Nathalie jogs three miles a day in her neighborhood and spends her leisure time reading books by Toni Morrison. She also loves cooking, specializing in buffalo wings, baked ziti and crab cakes.

Fitness guru Sri Chinmoy received a fragrant 70th birthday gift from his followers on August 27, when they arranged a bouquet of 70,000 roses for him - the biggest bouquet ever put together.

Ashrita Furman, a Chinmoy follower and the man who holds the most Guinness World records, led the movement to arrange the bouquet, said, "It was beautiful. You could smell it from ten blocks down."

The flowers will be recorded by the Guinness Book as the world’s largest flower bouquet, giving Furman his 70th record.

According to Furman, a Jamaica resident, the flowers were ordered wholesale from Columbia and Ecuador, two countries where roses sell for a measly 10 cents apiece. The huge mass of flowers was set up in a driveway on 164th Street in Jamaica, a location that caused some minor problems. "It was sort of in the way, I guess," Furman said. "But everyone enjoyed it. Still, we had to take it down so people could move around."

Hundreds of Chinmoy followers from around the world came to celebrate the guru’s birthday in Jamaica, and almost all of them took home a rose.

As for the record Furman promised to break in the Tribune’s parking lot - balancing milk crates on his chin - he’s still practicing but he’s almost ready to give it a try. The stunt has a certain Trib publisher a little worried. "What happens if the crates fall?" he asked. Good question. If you see cars leaving the Tribune lot with dents, you’ve figured out the answer.

If you are called to serve on a jury in Queens Civil Court, beware the mobile vampires!

People responding to notices of jury duty not only have to deal with the lawyers, there are other bloodsuckers around.

Prospective jurors are being asked to give more than their time. Medical personnel from the New York Blood Service are looming on the horizon – tubes and taps in hand, waiting to take blood from anyone in the captive crowd who is willing – and qualified.

Sparked by a critical blood shortage this year, officials at the NY Blood Service tapped into jury pools on Long Island and Manhattan, and expanded the program into Queens when it proved successful.

It may soon be expanded to criminal and federal courts, said Harvey Shaffher, a spokesperson for NY Blood Service.

As part of their plan to, as they describe it, to "turn up the fun" at the recent grand opening of the newest Best Buy electronics store chain in Rego Park, there were a number of festivities including free CD samplers and an appearance by the Best Buy mascot, but the highlight was an appearance by Queens’ super-hero – Spider-man.

This was Spidey’s first public appearance since the Tribune revealed his name and address as the Parkers from Forest Hills, Queens.

As previously reported, the Trib recently untangled a web of intrigue surrounding Spidey and Peter Parker, his alter-ego and Forest Hills Gardens resident.

We revealed that Parker’s address in the comic book was, in fact, the home of a real-life Parker family – Andrew and his digital artist wife, Susanne. Their neighbors are named the Osborns – the name of Spidey’s greatest arch-nemesis, the Green Goblin.

Although originally concerned about the knowledge going public, since the article appeared Andrew and wife Susanne Parker said they have gotten somewhat of a kick out of the attention.

In the past they’ve received Discover cards in Peter Parker’s name, and since the article appeared they’ve had people ask them to pose for pictures in front of their home.

"Now that we’ve gotten over being besieged by crazies, we do enjoy the attention," said Susanne, who is writing a letter to Spider-Man creator Stan Lee to try and find out more about the connection.
