Taste The Carribean Flavor In Jamaica

Dubies Palace and Hotspot
103-19 Merrick Boulevard, Jamaica

Cuisine: Caribbean

Hours: 10 a.m-10 p.m., Monday-Saturday

Located at the corner of Merrick Blvd. and 104 Avenue, Dubie’s Palace is a welcome addition to Southeast Queens. Built primarily as an entertainment complex, the eatery features a take-out window for hot meals.

The menu includes Curry Chicken Roti, Salt Fish and Okra, Steamed Callaloo, Grilled Lobster, Butter Shrimp and Escoveiched Fish.

They also cater to vegetarians with dishes that include soya chunks, tofu and Ital Stew (vegetable stew)

I ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas ($6.50).

The tender chicken was very spicy and well seasoned to the bone.

It emanated a smoked grill flavor that made for an interesting and unique taste.

The dish was accompanied by light and fluffy rice served with small kidney beans.

Service at Dubie’s is prompt and efficient.

With a vast menu of Carribbean dishes, I will be going back to Dubie’s for seconds.
