Bienvenidos!

Welcome to El Rey Restaurant Inc., a corner eatery that brings a taste of the Dominican Republic to the Jamaica area.

Translated as “the king” in Spanish, El Rey lives up to its name by offering hearty portions of its Spanish and American fare.

Between the hours of seven and 11, desayuno or breakfast is served.

Hot or cold cereals, twelve varieties of omelette, eggs with bacon, ham, sausage or even sirloin steak and a particularly Dominican-style option including mangu with egg and cheese or salami are available, all for under $6.50.

By midday, the menu opens up for lunch and dinner and showcases 28 savory sandwiches, 15 seafood dishes, soups and a vast array of meat selections which come with salad, rice and beans, French fries, green or yellow plantains.

Mixed rice dishes, salads with lobster, shrimp or octopus to name a few and “fritters,” fried appetizers ready for sharing, are also on the menu.

Desserts, natural juices, shakes, wines and beer are the perfect accompaniment to your meal.  Need a suggestion?

The shrimp scampi ($11.95) with rice and beans might be a good place to start.
