A Healthy Stop

Health Conscious Natural Food
231-22 Merrick Blvd., Laurelton; 712-7740

Hours: Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Closed Sundays.

It’s not only food . . .it’s hair care and skin care, all natural, and for the whole family.

Health Conscious Natural Food in Laurelton is a market . . much like your neighborhood grocer . . . but this grocer is dedicated to serving those who want to live a healthy lifestyle.

Pick your choice of fresh vegetables, natural beverages, including sodas and energy drinks, or order a dish from the menu.

The day’s menu often changes daily, giving vegetarians a place to retreat for eating delights. Ackee patties, soy steak, veggie balls, cabbage, and vegetable fried rice were just a few items for your choice palate that can range from $4 to $12 depending upon your chosen amount.

Children are often not thought about when it comes to healthy eating and lifestyle habits. Pizzas and hotdogs are sustenance, but are not a part of the USDA’s pyramid on daily supplement food grouping requirements.

Health conscious baby food, shampoo, conditioner and more is offered to healthy living children, as well as adults.

My favorites are specialty body cleaners, such as African Black soap and Dr. Bronner’s peppermint, hemp, almond and eucalyptus liquid soaps.

In addition to feeding the body, you can feed your mind at the health food store. Cultural books and information fill the small library with references on growing beautiful deadlocks, as well as natural ways to heal the body.

Buy fragrances for the home, or vitamin supplements for total body nourishment, but as the sign says "health conscious, for your 360-degree preservation of life."
