Stuffer’s Crabhouse Inc warns patrons not to let appearances be deceiving, they are not fast-food. There are no tables or waiters, only counter tops and stools facing the street. Take a number and have a seat, like the sign says "all meals are cooked to order" to ensure the highest quality seafood.

Stuffer’s is the real deal. Try Indonesian Shrimp, Alaskan snow crabs and lobsters directly from Maine. The staff is friendly, the counter and floors are immaculate and yes – they wear gloves. In short, for seafood lovers it’s a bit of heaven in the neighborhood.

So what’s the difference between Stuffer’s and your typical corner fish store?

Owner Ed Lindsey manages to defy conventional logic by taking the crabhouse out of the backwater while somehow also taking the backwater out of the crabhouse. Most importantly, there’s not that funky fish smell. Stuffer’s menu affects an uncanny balance of quality and subtley. The fish is fresh and they are not cooking with crisco. As the menu proudly boasts, items like their Stuffed Red Snapper and incredible Fish Knuckles (chunks of cod fish) are "politely" and "delicately" fried in soy bean oil.

If that’s not enough to bring you through the doors, Stuffer’s also offers homemade (and they are) cheesecakes in nine flavors. You can have a slice or order a pie for only $13. For Catering services call 723-1600.
